Projects
ClimEye
The project aims to analyze video footage from static webcams to detect and interpret weather conditions.
By focusing on elements like clouds and trees captured in the video, the system will evaluate environmental
factors such as wind.
The goal is to develop an automated solution capable of recognizing visual cues
related to weather phenomena, providing insights into whether conditions like wind are present based on
movement in the video. This approach leverages video signal processing techniques to enhance real-time
weather monitoring.
SyncRAG AI
SyncRAG AI is an advanced chatbot platform that integrates OpenAI's APIs with Retrieval-Augmented
Generation (RAG) functionality.
This system combines natural language processing with information retrieval
techniques, enabling the chatbot to provide accurate and contextually relevant responses based on
pre-existing data. Thanks to its integration with OpenAI, SyncRAG AI enhances the quality of responses,
optimizing both the speed and relevance of interactions.
The platform is designed to be secure and scalable,
with a user-friendly interface that facilitates quick access to information.
Easy Meal
Easy-Meal is a web app designed to simplify the interaction between users and restaurants.
HealthUp
HealthUp is a program developed for those who want to follow a healthy lifestyle. It allows users to track the foods consumed throughout the day, helping them maintain a balanced diet and achieve wellness goals.
Publications
🚧 Addressing the Challenges of Articles 5 and 6 in the AI Act (ONGOING)
This paper describes some important challenges stemming from Articles 5 and 6 of the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act, regarding the inclusion of AI systems capable of causing mental and physical harm under the high-risk category identified in Annex III.
Experience

Internship at SyncLab
During this internship, I was responsible for developing a WebApp using the Spring and Angular frameworks, aimed at ensuring efficient integration with OpenAI's APIs. The project involved implementing advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) functionalities, optimizing the application's ability to provide relevant responses based on pre-existing i nformation, thus improving the efficiency and quality of interactions.
Education
Master's Degree in Artifical Intelligence Systems
Currently pursuing my master's at University of Trento, specializing in Artificial Intelligence Systems.
Certifications
Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching
A comprehensive certification that validates proficiency in network fundamentals, IP addressing, routing and switching protocols, and network security. Through the CCNA Routing and Switching certification, I gained hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches, implementing routing protocols , and securing network infrastructures. This certification equips me with the foundational skills required to design, manage, and optimize network systems, ensuring efficient and secure communication within small to medium-sized networks.
Cisco IT Essentials
A foundational certification focused on the basics of computer hardware, software, and networking. The Cisco IT Essentials course provided hands-on experience in assembling and maintaining PCs, troubleshooting common hardware and software issues, and understanding the fundamentals of networking and security. This certification enhanced my ability to diagnose, repair, and configure computer systems, making it a valuable foundation for IT support and technical roles.
About me
Hi there! If you're reading this, it means something about me caught your interest, so let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Matteo, born in Motta di Livenza, and I’m the second of two twins. Ever since I was little, my dad introduced me to the world of computers, sparking my love for technology. The first game he got me into was Doom—not the new one, but the original one that ran on floppy disks! From there, I moved on to Sniper Elite (the first one, of course!), playing multiplayer with my dad and brother. Fun fact: I was pretty good at it! They even made some video montages of my gameplay, which you can check out here .
That’s where my passion for tech really started to grow. I began wondering how things
worked behind the
scenes: HOW does a server work? HOW could someone shoot from
one side of the world and hit someone on the
other side? HOW do cheats like wallhacks and aimbots work? To find the
answers, I decided to pursue an IT
path
in high school. Spoiler alert: I didn’t find all the answers right away, but I did find my first
Still hungry for more knowledge, I enrolled in the Computer Science program at the University of Padua. During my studies, I had the chance to learn from some incredible professors who were truly passionate about what they did. One of them was Massimo Marchiori (yes, that Massimo Marchiori). His lectures were like works of art, and one thing he said really stuck with me: “In life, you need to ask HOW and WHY.” That same question is what led me from gaming to a deeper love for computer science, because I wanted to understand HOW and WHY things worked the way they did.
I also have to mention Paolo Baldan and Michele Scquizzato , two professors who opened my eyes to the fascinating world of algorithms. Algorithms explained HOW the world works in a mathematical and logical way, which only fueled my passion even more.
One day, I listened to an audiobook by Alessandro Vespignani , and something in it blew my mind. His team had predicted the behavior of mosquitoes to prevent the spread of disease! HOWwas that even possible? I had to know! That’s when I realized it was artificial intelligence behind it all. So, I started diving into AI and even worked on a thesis about developing a chatbot with RAG functionality, which was an incredible experience. I also met another key figure in my growth, engineer Paolo Pallaro, who played a significant role in shaping my career.
I finished my thesis, but my thirst for knowledge was far from quenched. I continued exploring the world of AI and saw endless possibilities—from Machine Learning to Computer Vision—and realized how much could be done to help humanity! From preventing the spread of diseases to aiding cancer research, to developing new medicines and vaccines, I saw a world of potential. I found my path and my future, and that’s why I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligent Systems at the University of Trento, where I’m currently studying.
